Residential Services
Arc of Maui County provides residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are six group homes throughout the Maui County community: Kihei, Kahului, Waiehu, Napili and Molokai. All homes are licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Health either Intermediate Care Facility or Domiciliary and five homes are wheelchair accessible.
Residential services are available for those who are eligible for Medicaid Waiver services through Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division. The homes are designed for 4-5 residents each with staff support 24-hours a day.
Residential services are designed to promote a high quality of living with a primary focus on community integration and self-determination. Staff is fully trained to provide varying levels of support and assistance to meet the individual needs of each resident. Residents are encouraged to meet their highest level of independence in activities of daily living and personal care, and participate in social, recreational and community activities of their choice.
Guardians, family members and friends are welcome and encouraged to participate in all aspects of the resident’s life. Services are designed to promote the health and well-being of each resident. Nursing and nutritional services, medication assistance and transportation are included in the array of services.
