ARC of Maui County has a new home under construction in Maunaloa. The initial ground breaking was in December, 2011, with a one year target completion date. The five bedroom home will house 5 Molokai residents who have intellectual and other disabilities. Staffing will be provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with the goal to promote independence and teach daily living skills to the participants. ARC will hire Molokai residents and provide the necessary training to staff the home.
Audrey McGauley, CEO, attended a blessing at the Maunaloa site with 50 people in attendance. This also marks the 10 year anniversary of ARC serving the residents of Molokai.
