Two of our participants at Arc have some great talents, and decided to put them in action by applying for a talent show sponsored by UCPA & the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. Jessica performed hula to the theme song from “Lilo & Stitch”. She has beautiful, graceful moves and kept perfect time with the music. Gilbert has the rare talent of being able to perfectly imitate many animal sounds, including the common sounds of a cat, dog, cow and horse, but also less common sounds of a monkey, peacock, owl etc. He performed to the tune of “Old McDonald had a Farm”. The highlight of his performance was when, “because his farm is on Maui, his farm has a whale”, and he did a great imitation of a whale, including the spout at the end.
Unfortunately, our two participants weren’t one of the five finalists, but all had a great time preparing for the event! Much thanks to the staff at Lahaina who worked with Gilbert, and Brenda who worked with Jessica.
